Everything you need to know about StudyFirst
StudyFirst uses Apple's official Screen Time technology (FamilyControls and ManagedSettings APIs) to block apps at the iOS system level. This means:
They can't without you. When you approve StudyFirst's Screen Time access on your child's iPhone with your own Apple Account, iOS doesn't let your child delete StudyFirst or turn that access off without your approval.
Study completion is synced to our servers with timestamps. While changing device time might temporarily confuse the local app, the server knows the real time. Parents can see actual study history in their dashboard.
StudyFirst can block websites too. Turn on Websites in your child's settings to block web browsing until study is complete. When you choose app categories such as Social or Games, their websites are blocked in Safari as well. This keeps kids from reaching games or social media through a browser.

Questions are generated by AI (powered by OpenAI) based on:
New questions don't repeat what your child was recently asked. Questions answered wrong come back for review until they're answered right.
StudyFirst covers 7 subjects designed for grades 1-7:
You can also add your own topics, typed or from a photo of homework, such as this week's spelling words or Spanish greetings. Questions can be in English, Estonian, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Japanese or Korean.
Parents set the daily study time (1 to 30 minutes, 10 by default). Once your child has studied that long and answered the day's missed questions correctly, the blocked apps unlock, within any Screen Time limits you've set (e.g., 30 minutes of games per day).
Yes! In the app, and on the web when you log in at studyfirst.app, you see:
Yes! The Family Plan ($9.99/month) covers any number of children; the Single Child plan ($5.99/month) covers one. Each child gets their own profile and settings, and you can follow each child's progress. Another parent can join your family too, with an invite code from the app.
The Single Child plan is $5.99/month and the Family Plan $9.99/month (US prices; the App Store shows yours), each with a 1-week free trial. You subscribe in the StudyFirst app through your Apple Account and can cancel anytime in your Apple Account's subscription settings; cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or month ends to avoid the next charge. Without a plan, StudyFirst pauses: your child's apps aren't blocked and no new questions come.
Yes. Log in at studyfirst.app with the same Apple or Google account you use in the app. On the web you can see your children's progress and every answer, change study settings and topics, turn blocking on or off, add a child, get link codes and invite another parent. Subscribing, choosing specific apps to block, adding photo topics and deleting your account are done in the iPhone app.
StudyFirst requires iOS 26 or later, on both your iPhone and your child's.
Yes! StudyFirst works on both iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 26 or later.
Internet is needed to generate new study questions (AI-powered) and sync progress. However, app blocking continues to work offline - your child can't access blocked apps just by turning off WiFi.
