Welcome to StudyFirst! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the StudyFirst mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by StudyFirst ("we," "our," or "us").

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the Service.

1. Description of Service

StudyFirst is a parental control and educational app that:

Generates AI-powered study questions for children
Integrates with Apple Screen Time to manage app access
Requires children to complete study sessions before accessing entertainment apps
Provides parents with progress tracking and reports

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent account
The Service is designed for children in grades 1-7 (approximately ages 6-13)
Parents/guardians are responsible for their children's use of the Service

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
One account may manage multiple child profiles within a family

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Some features require a paid subscription
Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
Refunds are handled according to Apple's App Store policies
We offer a free trial period for new users

5. AI-Generated Content

Study questions are generated using artificial intelligence (OpenAI)
While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors
The Service is a supplement to, not a replacement for, formal education
We do not guarantee specific educational outcomes or grade improvements

6. Screen Time Integration

StudyFirst uses Apple's official Screen Time APIs (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings) to block apps
You must grant Screen Time permissions for the Service to function
App blocking is enforced at the iOS system level
We are not responsible for limitations or changes in Apple's Screen Time functionality
The effectiveness of app blocking depends on proper device configuration and iOS version

7. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose
Attempt to bypass or circumvent any security features
Share your account credentials with others
Use the Service to harm, harass, or exploit children
Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
Use automated systems to access the Service

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content are owned by StudyFirst
Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without permission
AI-generated questions are provided for personal educational use only

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL STUDYFIRST BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StudyFirst and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms
You may cancel your account at any time through the app or by contacting us
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
